SELECTION POLICY
Any queries or questions on Selection should be referred to the General Committee.
Current selection policy is outlined at Rule 13 of the club rules. Rule 13 states:-
(a) A selection committee of five members shall be elected at the AGM of which three shall form a quorum. Nominations shall be as per the general committee.
(b) The selection committee shall elect a Convenor
(c) Selectors may not be elected to serve for more than two consecutive years.
Following representation from members and In order to strengthen the existing process, the following changes will be introduced for selection during the 2008-09 year.
• The selection committee will comprise those elected at the AGM (Ellen Mc Cartney, Kathryn Thompson, Heather Flowers and Ian Latham) together with a representative from the general committee (Michael Mullan). The selection committee will involve the club coach (Tim Blomley) and captain's from last years teams in the selection process.
• For singles and mixed league teams captains will be asked to record the scores of all matches. This information will be used to assist the selection committee with future selection.
• New members joining the club who cannot provide evidence of playing standard through participation in league, tournament, or representative tennis will not be selected for teams until the selection committee are satisfied of the individuals playing standard.
